PriboFast® Sterigmatocystin Immunoaffinity Column
Sterigmatocystin
Sterigmatocystin is a polyketide mycotoxin and mainly produced by the fungi Aspergillus nidulans and A. versicolor. The toxin is found naturally in some cheeses, and then has been reported in mouldy grain, coffee beans, etc. It is a natural toxic metabolite, and has been considered as a potent carcinogen, mutagen, and teratogen. Therefore, there are strict limits and regulations for sterigmatocystin toxin in food and grains all over the world.
Product Design
The principle of Sterigmatocystin Immunoaffinity Column is an antigen-antibody reaction. Sterigmatocystin monoclonal antibodies have been immobilised on the in-column gel. The toxins in the sample are extracted, filtered, diluted and then slowly passed through the immunoaffinity column, where sterigmatocystin molecules are specifically bound to the antibodies in gel. The column is then washed to remove unbound other materials. After wash, sterigmatocystin toxins can be eluted with methanol and collected into analytical vials for HPLC or LC-MS/MS.
Validated Matrices
This product can selectively extract sterigmatocystin toxins in Food, Grains, Feed, Nuts, Peanuts, Chili, Soy Sauce, Vinegar, Herbs, and Alcoholic Beverages samples.
